The Groover from Vancouver will play in front of a 15,000 crowd in a weeks time (June 2nd).
Bridgend CCC said they are happy with the organisers plans. The fire service will make a last minute inspection of the venue a day before the event.
Some nearby residents had objected on grounds of traffic, noise, crowd control and possible litter.
Neville Thomas of Lewis Avenue told the licensing sub-committee that he was concerned about the behaviour of recent crowds at the Brewery Field.
He said The last big event was the Varsity match and they were running amok all over the place.

Safety officer for Bridgend RFC Mike Owen assured him that 134 stewards were being employed and security fences put around the field.
A parking permit scheme will be in operation for residential streets in the vicinity and a complaints hotline will be set up by public protection officers.
Speaking after the meeting, Leighton Samuel, of concert sponsors Décor Frame, was delighted.
We have met with the local residents and answered all their concerns, He said
Everyone involved is being extremely supportive and with just a few hundred tickets left we are confident of staging a first-class rock concert in Bridgend this summer.
